Cookies, explained
Cookie Policy
Cookies are small files a site stores on your device. Here's exactly which ones we use and how to take control of them.
How we use cookies
We use cookies to keep the site working, to understand which comparisons people find useful, and to measure referrals to operators so our affiliate funding is credited correctly. We aim to keep this list short.
The types we use
- Essential cookies — needed for the site to function and to remember your cookie choice. These can't be switched off.
- Analytics cookies — help us see, in aggregate, which pages are visited so we can improve the comparison. They don't identify you personally.
- Referral cookies — record that a visit to an operator came from us, which is how affiliate commissions are attributed. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more.
Third-party cookies
When you follow a link to an operator, regulator or support organisation, that site may set its own cookies under its own policy. We don't control those, so it's worth reading the cookie notice on any site you visit after leaving us.
Managing your choices
When you first arrive, you can accept all cookies or choose essential only. You can change your mind at any time by clearing site data in your browser, which will bring the notice back. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely from their settings, though essential features may not work as well if you do.
